Nigeria Security Tracker Weekly Update: October 30–November 5

Below is a visualization and description of some of the most significant incidents of political violence in Nigeria from October 30 to November 5, 2021. This update also represents violence related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. These incidents will be included in the Nigeria Security Tracker.

• October 30: Kidnappers abducted "several" (estimated at ten) in Sapele, Delta.
• October 30: Troops killed thirty-seven Boko Haram militants in Gwoza, Borno.
• October 31: Bandits killed five and kidnapped sixty-six in Chikun, Kaduna.
• November 1: Soldiers killed an "unspecified number" (estimated at five) of civilians in Awgu, Enugu.
• November 1: Bandits killed an imam and kidnapped two in Faskari, Katsina.
• November 2: Kidnappers abducted six from the University of Abuja in Gwagwala, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
• November 2: Kidnappers abducted two students from a school bus in Akoko-Edo, Edo.
• November 2: Gunmen killed two police officers in Port Harcourt, Rivers.
• November 2: Suspected herdsmen kill seven in Numan, Adamawa.
• November 2: Airstrikes killed "dozens" (estimated at twenty-four) of bandits in Chikun, Kaduna.
• November 2: Boko Haram militants kidnapped ten in Kaga, Borno.
• November 3: Boko Haram killed two police officers and one soldier in Abadam, Borno.
• November 3: Boko Haram attacked Magumeri, Borno; there were no casualties.
• November 4: Kidnappers abducted four in Suleja, Niger State.
• November 4: Gunmen killed six police officers in Ekwusigo, Anambra.
• November 4: Police officers killed four civilians during a clash with tricycle riders in Alimosho, Lagos.
• November 4: Kidnappers killed two after a failed kidnap attempt in Esit Eket, Akwa Ibom.
• November 5: Gunmen killed three in Obowo, Imo.
• November 5: Sectarian violence led to ten deaths in Zangon Kataf, Kaduna.
• November 5: Communal violence led to five deaths in Gombe, Gombe.
